We are sustainably committed
As the oldest industrial company in Hesse, we combine tradition and innovation to form sustainable business success. Our employees have been the foundation for this for more than 500 years.
Sustainable success through committed employee retention
The skills of our employees, their expertise and their innovative strength are the strengths that drive us forward. That is why we also pursue a sustainable personnel concept to bind our employees and their pronounced skills to our company in the long term, sometimes even across generations.
The creation of optimal working conditions and recognizing achievements as well as developing the strengths and potentials of our employees are a matter of course for us.
Precisely because long-term relationships are important to us, we are not only committed to our employees, but also to their families, our region, the shaping of a future with a high quality of life and the protection of nature.

We love Nature
Integral parts of our corporate policy include the improvement of competitive performance, the occupational health and safety of our employees at work and the careful handling of the environment and use of energy.
That is why Isabellenhütte is committed to the careful use of natural resources and to the constant improvement of our employee services in terms of occupational health and safety and environmental protection as well as with respect to energy-related services.
Furthermore, the legal provisions to be applied are regularly reviewed and evaluated. Isabellenhütte is also committed to an open dialog with authorities and the public.
Because the careful handling of the environment and careful energy use is important to us, we have introduced an environment and energy management system according to the requirements of DIN EN ISO 14001, DIN ISO 45001 and DIN EN ISO 50001 that is intended to support us in our projects:
- Always use machines, devices and work equipment as intended and assess their impact on the environment, occupational health and safety and energy efficiency before use.
- To promote awareness of the environment, occupational health and safety and energy among all employees and to actively involve them in this.
- To design our products and production processes to be as environmentally friendly, energy-efficient and health and safety compliant as possible.
- To optimize the use of all types of resources, the generation of emissions, the management of biodiversity and the generation of waste in line with economic means.
- Select suppliers, contractors and service providers in a way that is consistent with our environment, occupational health and safety policy, among other things.
- To inform and instruct our employees in such a way that they are aware of all potential hazards and stresses.
- To take organizational precautions to take quick and correct countermeasures in the event of emergencies and to check these with regard to their causes in order to prevent future emergency situations from arising.
Our company has been successfully certified according to the following internationally standardized norms by an accredited monitoring company since 2013:
What our employees say
„For us, acting in an environmentally sustainable manner means: looking to the future, questioning the consequences of our actions and using resources conservatively."
Head of Quality Management

Sustainability as a responsibility – today and in the future!
Sustainability is not an option for us, but an obligation to future generations and customers.
That is why we take responsibility and have our efforts regularly reviewed.
We are therefore proud that EcoVadis has awarded us the silver medal for our sustainability performance!
With a score of 71 out of 100 points, we are among the top 15% of all companies assessed worldwide.
This recognition is a milestone, but not the finish line.
Together with our customers and partners, we will continue to drive sustainable supply chains and responsible business practices in the future.
