Domestic, commercial and industrial storage systems are the answer to feeding decentrally generated electrical energy into the electricity distribution grid. The increasing state-subsidized expansion of renewable energies is increasingly leading to unstable situations in the distribution grids. 

What all electrical energy storage systems have in common is the need for precise measurement of current and voltage in order to be able to make important statements about battery diagnostics.

Important parameters for pack monitoring are state-of-charge (SoC), state-of-health (SoH) and state-of-power (SoP). SoC refers to the monitoring of the battery charging process, SoH refers to the monitoring of the “state of health” and SoP refers to the maximum current that the battery can deliver or absorb in a specific window. 

Analog current sensors and other Isabellenhütte products can be used to monitor the three parameters of the battery pack. The use of our products guarantees gentle charging and discharging of the battery, extends the service life and protects the batteries from excessive currents over long periods of time, which can destroy the battery.

ICD-A Sensor

The ICD series is a compact precision current measurement system. It uses shunt-based current measurement for maximum accuracy and has a CAN interface. It also contains a 16-bit ADC for measured value acquisition. The ICD can be used in many 12V DC applications.

IVT-S Sensor

The IVT-S is a compact, high-precision current measurement system equipped with a CAN interface. The continuous current measurement covers a measuring range of up to ±2,500 A and can be extended by up to 3 voltage measurement channels (nom. 1000 V). The IVT-S has been the benchmark for precise current and voltage measurement since 2017.
