Ensuring the stablility of the power supply is essential for both safety and consumption rates. In order to provide precise measurements Isabellenhütte develops high-precision resistors and measurement systems.

High-precision shunts with low thermal resistance

A long service life, compact size and low weight are basic requirements for both current and future power supply systems. In order to meet these requirements and surpass them, precision and reliability at measuring current flow and power are important.

The shunt solution from Isabellenhütte more than meets this challenge thanks to its outstanding performance with low internal thermal resistance, low TCR and thereby very high precision.

When selecting the right shunt for their power supply system developers are faced with a common problem: a higher shunt resistance provides a higher voltage drop, however the power lost also increases and the temperature in the shunt rises. The accuracy of measurements is also affected by this rise in temperature due to the temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR). 

A lower resistance value is therefore preferable.
