Aviation & Aerospace
Flying safely thanks to precise measurement technology
In the aviation- & aerospace industry, reliably functioning systems minimize risks and thus ensure safe flight operations.
Technologies for extreme conditions
It is crucial for the safety of passengers and cargo that all components of an aircraft work reliably.
The electrification of drives, the precise monitoring of safety-critical components under extreme temperature and environmental conditions and ensuring a stable power supply pose particular challenges for manufacturers in the aerospace industry. In addition, safety-relevant systems must be continuously monitored to ensure their functionality in harsh operating environments.
With us as a partner, companies develop high-performance and reliable systems. We offer customized solutions that meet the highest requirements of the aerospace industry.
Our technologies ensure precise monitoring, control and measurement of electrical systems even under extreme conditions, making a decisive contribution to the safety and longevity of aircraft and spacecraft.
Aviation
The electrification of drives and subsystems as well as alternative and new drive concepts are crucial for a sustainable future in the industry.
The consumption of fossil fuels is reduced through electrification and can be avoided in the long term.
In the long term, hydrogen fuel cells will play a central role in the power supply of electric motors instead of conventional combustion engines. This will reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The precise measurement of currents and the exact monitoring of all safety-relevant systems and components play a decisive role in this.
Our sensors offer maximum precision over the entire service life. Together with high-performance resistors and precision alloys, Isabellenhütte is ideally equipped to meet the challenges of the aviation sector.

Electric heating systems as a safety standard

Heating solutions are of particular importance as subsystems, as they must ensure that safety-relevant avionics components maintain their performance and function in the cold layers of air high above. Electrothermal solutions, which are more efficient and reliable, are increasingly being used in the development of new commercial aircraft. These solutions will become established in the long term, as combustion turbines, which produce waste heat, will no longer be needed.
Airlines can ensure their efficiency and reliability while reducing their environmental impact by combining electrification and heating solutions with our shunts and measurement sensors. This is crucial to meet the growing demands for sustainability and safety.
Shaping the future of aviation together
We offer various solutions for heating safety-relevant groups and components. Thanks to our expertise in high-voltage current measurement and condition monitoring, we are an important partner for future developments in aviation.
Aerospace
Did you know that our power and precision resistors are installed in satellites and that rockets fly safely into orbit thanks to our special alloys?
Satellites orbit the earth at high altitudes and have to withstand strong vibrations during launch. In space, their sensitive systems function reliably for months or years despite the extreme cold. They are used for weather observation and telecommunications, among other things. Data is transmitted via electromagnetic waves.
The industry is facing new challenges due to commercialization and the trend towards reusing rocket components. We make a decisive contribution to the reliability of spacecraft with thermocouple technology for precise temperature measurement in drive components such as liquid gas tanks, liquid gas lines and liquid gas valves. We also develop and supply innovative material alloys that are used in powder form, for example in engine cones.

Resistors for aerospace applications
In most satellites, the on-board electronics are powered by solar cells, which are often supported by batteries.
This is where our SMx-resistors for the aerospace industry come into play. They are used in DC/DC converters, for example, which are responsible for energy management. Thanks to their robust design, our resistors always deliver reliable and precise measured values, even under the special conditions in space.
In space, satellites have to withstand extreme sub-zero temperatures and function reliably for several months to years. Precise temperature control of the electronics is crucial here, as damage can irreversibly lead to the shutdown of a system costing several million euros. Our precision resistors and alloys are certified for use in space. For example, the flexible heating elements of the ISA-FLEX® series ensure precise temperature control of the electronics in satellites and thus contribute to the protection of satellite systems against external influences.
